Riverbend is a privately owned 3-bedroom winterized cottage on the Irondale River, located about 15 minutes east of Kinmount, Ontario. The place is best-suited to people and families looking for a quiet escape. There are no jet-skis roaring by, in fact passing canoes outnumber passing motorboats, though neither are plentiful. The screened deck is perfect for early-morning coffee and evening dinners. And the stone campire pit is a night-time focal point. If you need to stay connected during your vacation, you can take your laptop down to the dock and make use of our high-speed wireless satellite connection. Please visit www.greenspacehomes.ca for lots of photos and more info. Happy vacationing, Dean |

Haliburton Forest is an amazing, privately owned, wild life reserve - complete with its own wolf pack! There is something to do every season, from their canopy tour, to their submarine tours, to snowmobiling, dog-sledding and mountain biking.
Highlands Cinemas, in Kinmount are less than 15 minutes west from Riverbend. This a great privately-run theatre that shows first-run movies and is full of old movie paraphenalia. It's a a real treat to visit, and admission prices are about $8. I don't really know how they're able to get the movies they get but they're ALWAYS showing the current movies. The theatre shuts its doors during the winter months.
Minden Wildwater Preserve has some of the best, and most consistent technical whitewater in the province is about 35 minutes from the cottage. In fact, it's one of the reasons I wanted to find a place in this area. I think almost every rock in the river has markings from either my kayak hull or my helmet. Very accessible.
Sir Sams is a great little ski hill just north of the town of Haliburton. They have a terrain park, short lines, fast chairs, and a variety of runs.
There's also plenty of hiking, fishing, biking, cross-country skiing and other activies nearby. If you let me know your interests, I'll put together a list of suggestions for you when you visit.
