The Crown Jewel (Home 324) is a four-bedroom, 3 ½ Bath home of 2500 square feet on two floors.  It includes two master bedroom suites, both with king-size beds, a king-size in the third bedroom, and a queen-size in the fourth.  There are two refrigerators and a wet bar.  Every home in the Colony has a two-car garage, fireplaces, washers and dryers in the home, built-in microwaves, individual room thermostats and full kitchens with dishwasher and disposal.  This home served as our second home for eighteen years and we remodeled it in 1992, making it unique in the Colony.  The Crown Jewel has 4 televisions, satellite TV, crib/playpen, VCR, Weber barbecue and CD stereo. 

The homes are located behind guarded gates, in a secluded location, between Marina and Moss Landing, right on the shores of Monterey Bay, and all are bay front properties. The homes are 15 minutes north of Monterey, twenty minutes from Carmel. These homes are valued at over $1 million each, and are part of a complex that includes a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, four tennis courts, driving range, putting green, full basketball court, shuffleboard court, beach volleyball court and bocce ball court. Twenty golf courses are within 20 miles, including world famous Pebble Beach.

The Monterey Peninsula is home to the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the Carmel Bach Festival and the Monterey Blues Festival.  The Laguna Seca Racing Course hosts the Superbike races, the Indy-Car CART races, Cherries Jubilee and the Vintage Car Races.  Available activities include Biking, Tennis, Golf, Shopping, Swimming, Sailing, Surfing, Fishing, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Marine Mammal Viewing, Elkhorn Slough bird sanctuary, Running and Rollerblading.

Totally remodeled in 1992 to serve as our own home, this four bedroom, three and one-half bath home has 2500 square feet of living space in a two-story plan.

There are three king-size bedrooms, two of which are masters with private baths and TV's, and all of which have whitewater ocean views. A queen-sized bed serves the fourth bedroom, also with ocean view.

There are two refrigerators, both with icemaker, 27" TV with VCR in the living room and additional TV's in both the master bedrooms. Oodles of utensils and serving ware for guests.

This home is set up for entertaining, with wet bar outside the kitchen and coffee service near the dining table. Note: This home is very popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Rates, Availability & Rental Reservation Information
All units are available for the rates stated, but please reserve well in advance for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, all Holiday weekends, and the months of June, July and August. The weather is really best during April/May and October/November, with bright sunny days, but when the schools are out is the highest rental season.

Activities: Biking, Tennis, Golf (dozens of great professional-level courses), Shopping, Swimming, Sailing, Surfing, Fishing, Kayaking, SCUBA diving, Snorkeling, Wildlife Viewing, Horseback riding and Running. Remember, If you can do it at the ocean, you can do it here!

The weekend is defined as Friday + Saturday nights.  Monterey County hotel tax of 10.5% will apply to the rate, not the cleaning fee.  Check in is after 3:00, check out is before 11:00. While children are welcome, there are very strict association rules barring pets, RVs and Trailers on the Colony property.  

Non-refundable reservation deposit is $300 - $1500 per week, dependent on length of stay. 

Send your personal checks to Nancy Krehbiel, 1027 Ocean View Blvd., Pacific Grove, CA 93950.  If we agree on timing and you decide to send your reservation deposit, we will hold the home for seven days for you, pending receipt of your deposit.  Sorry no credit cards.

You send the balance of your payment three weeks before arrival, and we mail the key and welcoming packet (gate card, parking passes, map of the area, directions and restaurant recommendations) to you two weeks before arrival.
