Vacation Rentals for Project Managers in Guam |

The 2006 agreement between Japan and the United States to shift 8,000 US Marines from Japanese bases to the island of Guam opens up vacation rentals possibilities for this island. The US Congress authorised construction funds in the amount of $193 million in 2007 for Guam and the funding is expected to increase every year for 10 years. In a 2009 report, Guam's military build up is expected to cost $7.5 billion in construction funds from 2009 to 2016. The project managers and workers expected to flood to Guam to work on such a huge construction budget will need vacation rentals for years which is expected to extend much later than 2016. Workers and construction managers working on this huge project will be visited by friends and families. There will also be businessmen who will follow the immigrants, workers and contractors seeing the new business potential for vacation rentals and other innovative business ideas. Japan is expected to provide funding of up to $3.29 billion of special purpose loans and equity investments so that support infrastructure can be installed for family housing. The Government of Guam has obtained funding for other infrastructure projects off the base, like roads and utilities. An approximate $3.2 billion is needed by the island for related projects and programs. Vacation rentals for this island will definitely have a huge market in the next few years. In June 2011, the Pacific Daily News reported that the Japan-funded construction contract for the military build up in Guam is back on track for $3 billion. The Navy just awarded $4 billion in US funds in 2010 for contractors of the project. As much as 15,000 construction and health workers are expected to work on this Guam project, opening up the huge possibilities in the vacation rentals business. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
