Here are a few tips when getting around Amsterdam in a bike. * People on bikes have the right of way over pedestrians so do watch out for them. * There are several bike shops in the Central Station area which can be rented for a minimum of three hours to a day. Prices range from 8-10 Euros a day. * When renting a bike, a deposit is required and option to pay for insurance just in case the bike gets stolen. * Most cyclists do not wear helmets so be aware of when signaling to turn and make sure to abide by the traffic lights. Stay on bike paths to avoid accidents. * Even if you are riding on a non-motorised transportation, the police will still give ticket when breaking laws.
