Many people have the notion that accommodations in the United States are expensive. While there are a fair share of post hotels and condominiums and apartments, good accommodations when you vacation in the United States need not always be something you need to pay an arm and a leg for.

Research is always key whenever you are looking for cheap, affordable, but decent accommodations in the States. You need to do your canvassing early so you have an idea of the places you want to stay in whatever state you plan to visit. Early planning and canvassing is important as you will need to contact these places - usually by email as telephoning can be very expensive and you need time to be able to communicate and correspond with each other. Be sure to also save any deals you agree on, so there won't be any confusion when you get there.

You can also ask for recent pictures of the facilities, especially if you plan on staying for awhile. You can also consult online forums and discussion boards that have sections on travelling to a particular place in the US, so you can get valuable input on not only the best places to stay in, but also ideas such as a recommended budget, itineraries, and others.
